世界頁巖氣大會已經成功舉辦了2屆，是世界上規模最大的頁巖氣專業會議，展會同期將舉辦頁巖氣裝備展覽，又世界天然氣聯盟（IGU）及美國氣體協會（AGA）支持，同時由Chesapeake ,ExxonMobile, Bhpbillion, Honeywell, Statoil, PGNIG, TOTAL ,Bake Hughs, Shell，YPF， Halliburton的官方支持。參會人員來自世界各地，其中中國2011年就總共有45人參會，中石油，中石化，中化，華電集團等都派高層前往參加。同時發改委研究院領導及中石油的人員還做了主題發言。會議得到了所有參會人員的一致高度評價及肯定。
2012年此會將繼續在美國休斯頓舉辦，歡迎中國頁巖氣領域內的企業積極參與。
